Zomato goes full-stack food-tech; introduces Whitelabel platform for restaurants

Earlier today, Zomato announced the launch of its Whitelabel Platform ( zomato.com/whitelabel ), a full suite of technologies for restaurants to run their business on the internet. The key feature on the platform is the ability for restaurants to launch custom-branded native mobile apps to help them connect with and engage their customers, and operate at internet scale. The food-tech segment has seen a lot of action over the last year. As per a Tracxn report published in December 2014, the food-tech segment has seen a total investment of USD 1.2 Billion in 2014 alone. While the dine-out and online ordering segments have seen a large chunk of this funding, internet-first restaurants have also seen their fair share of interest from investors.  Currently, most of the internet-first restaurants primarily function on a 'no/own kitchen + own delivery + on-demand' model. The industry is seeing early signs of this concept germinating in certain urban clusters. However, a vast majority ...

Stress is one thing that is inevitable in this world. It is one of the enemies by most of us. But there are just some times that one cannot handle too much stress and the we do not realize the effect of this on us. One thing that I learned about when I was in the corporate world was dandruff was also caused by stress. Believe me when I said that I tried almost all of the OTC products there is in the drugstore. I also had those dermatologist recommended products and none of which has a little relief to my teeny tiny problem. It was that dreadful that I didn't realize how hectic my schedule and life was back then. I lost hope to finding solution to it to this date and the only thing that find relief to it was when I was free from the stressors of my life. Yes, my teeny tiny problem miraculously went away. It was when I I remembered what our consultant told me before--that dandruff is also a main effect too much stress. Now that I have the privilege of shari...

Surviving My Third Pregnancy

Image
When I first learned that I was pregnant again, I had mixed emotions. The feeling of being blessed to carry a blessing for 9 months and the ifs that I will encounter along the way. It was hard because I have two demanding toddlers and nanny-less at the same time. Every chore is quite challenging for me already while taking care of them and making sure that everything is in place and that they are fed properly. Then this . Don’t get me wrong though, it is indeed a blessing. But every pregnancy doesn’t come easy. The first trimester was extreme challenging for me. It was dreadful to say the least. My morning sickness which lasted until before I sleep at night was the worst. I had no energy to cook let alone go to the market. In order for us to survive, I opted for food delivery. It sustained us for the first three months. There are times that I had no appetite at all. I could sleep all day and sleep with an empty stomach. I was nauseated almost the entire day and I dread the smel...

Ceelin Plus; Superior Protection for our Children

Image
Our family's DNA has all types of who-knows-what kind of allergies we have. As much as we would like to alter it, we can never change the fact that it is within us. So when I had kids, I was really praying so hard that they won't inherit it. But as inevitable as it seems, they had all sorts of allergies too. I know for a fact being a nurse-mom, that the only way to beat it is to have a strong immune system. Having the knowledge of what I needed to prevent it as well as the trigger factors makes me want my children to have all the nutrition and shield needed in order for them to prevent the occurrence of these allergies. In these industrialized generation, these triggering factors are almost as inevitable as it seems. I know I can never shield my children from it as much as I want to 24/7. The only way we can fight these infections and other what-nots is to boost their immune system and supplement them with the right kind of food. But sometimes you cannot provide them wi...
