Enjoy the latest deals this Christmas on BDO Pay

'Tis the season to be shopping to avoid the Christmas rush! Thanks to the convenience of shopping totally cashless and cardless through the BDO Pay app, shopping for Christmas gifts will have a different kind of rush, not the frenetic kind. BDO Pay, through its Scan to Pay feature, minimizes the hassle in paying for transactions by linking the shopper’s BDO Savings Account, Checking Account or Credit Card with the mobile app. This eliminates the need for 'loading up' their e-wallet account and spending for transfer fees, making purchases faster, easier, and more secure. Mixing and matching to get the latest deals  Aside from the convenience of cashless and cardless shopping, BDO Pay lets shoppers enjoy BDO Deals on the app, allowing them to take advantage of exclusive promos, rewards, and rebates available for their cards and accounts.  For example, shoppers can use BDO Pay to charge their groceries to their bank account; and then charge to their credit card to treat their ...

BDO reminds clients to download its mobile apps only from official app stores

The Internet has now become the breeding ground for scammers. In order for us not to fall victim, we must be smart enough to know which is legit source or not. We need to be vigilant in giving out details especially when it contains sensitive information and in this case our hard earned money.

BDO Unibank has received reports that certain websites are offering its mobile apps for download. For its clients’ safety and security, the bank urges them to only download its apps—namely, BDO Digital Banking, BDO Pay, BDO Deals, BDO Securities Mobile App, BDO Checkout, BDO Merchant, and BDO Unibank SG—for free from official app store platforms:

Mobile apps downloaded from unofficial app stores and other websites may be outdated, preventing users from using the app’s complete features and full capacity. Worse, mobile apps from these sites may contain malicious software or malware.

Malware creeps into mobile devices to harvest saved confidential information, such as online banking username and password, debit or credit card information, and other personal data.  Scammers, through this malware, use collected information to steal their victims’ identity, online bank account access, and money.

BDO reiterates the importance of downloading its mobile apps only from official app stores to avoid getting scammed. For those who are unable to download these apps, the bank encourages them to use the web versions instead for their online banking transactions.

Clients can report suspicious incidents to ReportPhish@bdo.com.ph or get in touch with the bank’s representatives by logging in Messenger and looking for BDO Customer Care with the blue verified checkmark from Facebook. Clients may also call its hotline at 8631-8000 or email at BDO at customercare@bdo.com.ph.
