How To Care For Your #TimelessStyle Outfits

Ever since I became a mom, there are only two things in mind with how I pick my clothes--staple pieces and comfort. Since I had my kids, I skipped on dresses and skirts. What is in my wardrobe consists of shorts, jeans, a shirt and a few dresses that I can wear on special occasions. But still, comfort outnumbers formal pieces. 

Brace yourself if you see me wearing the same piece of clothing over and over again because you know--comfort. So how do I really take care of my clothes? You see, even if my clothes are boring and what I call #MomOutfit, I am very particular with how I wash them. I don't want to entrust them to laundromat let alone someone to wash it for me. I do them myself.

This is how I really dress up during those normal days where I can freely move and ran after the kids so they won't get lost. I call this #MomOutfit 

Here are my tips on how you can take care of your timeless pieces:

1. Check the labels. Those tiny little tags from your clothes have a purpose. It says there how to take care of your clothes and take note of it. If you do not know the symbols, google it.

2. Identify the fabric. This is important and no-brainer. Each fabric varies care as to how you are going to wash and treat them so you need to know what type of fabric your clothes are. From there, you can proceed to the next step. If you do not know what fabric it is, again please refer to those tiny labels found in your clothes. 

3. Treat the stain. This is also something you need to take note of. There are so many stains that could stain your clothes and it will also vary with the type of fabric the stain in. Please take note of this infographic here:

4. Sort, sort, and sort. Okay, after identifying the fabric and treating the stain, you need to sort as well your clothes accordingly. Whites, colored and blacks should go together. This will prevent the clothes from transferring color to one another, after all, you don't like your white to become polkas after taking it out from the washer right? 

5. Use the right mode for washing your clothes. After sorting your clothes, you also need to identify which ones are delicates, cotton, and jeans. This way, the washer mode can clean your clothes effectively along with the right temperature. 6. Use the right detergent. This is what I have learned from a cousin of mine. Sorting, treating and right setting in the washer is not enough to make your clothes look always new. You need to use the right detergent for them. If you have coloreds and blacks, get those detergents for whites, coloreds, and blacks because I tell you, it will save you from buying too many clothes and will make them look vibrant all the time.
