A Chef Someday

Vacation has officially started to us weeks ago and I can't believe we actually survived one school year. Now, I can rest my nagging early in the morning and I can enjoy additional hour of sleep before I start my day.

Honestly, if only I have a choice, I would like to homeschool the kids. I have seen some negative effects on my eldest’s attitude when he was in school and I wasn’t happy about it. The past school year  was quite challenging for me when it comes to time management. Preparing him to school, daily chores as well as taking care of two kids, not to mention the days when they all get sick all at the same time. It’s not easy to  be honest.

But with God’s grace, we were able to finish the school year and I am so  proud of him. I know I was quite tough especially during those days when he feel like playing all day and I, on the other hand, continues to nag in order for him to finish his homework.

Don't get me wrong though, I was so happy that finally, he can now speak Tagalog. Ever since he was born, he converse in English only. When he was about 3 years old, he could understand simple Tagalog words yet he couldn't speak the language. But about four months in school, he went home one day and began speaking Tagalog.

He has improved as well when it comes to writing and can read few words already. I don't want to put pressure yet on this part because I want him to love reading not despise it just because he has to learn it.

One thing that shocked me come graduation time was when he handed me a paper wherein it says to practice the kids few lines for their graduation. I asked what he wanted to become and told me he wants to become a CHEF someday. Never will I thought that he will like it since he is quite picky with food.

Nevertheless, one school year is done and here is to many school years ahead of us.

Congratulations to the mommies of graduates!
