Glenda Aftermath

It has been a week since the typhoon Glenda hit our country and some from the southern region are not yet serviced and still experiencing from power outage. I am still thankful that we have electricity right after the typhoon and my kids didn't suffer mosquito bites and dreadful darkness. But on the other hand I still worry for my parents and other family members and friends in the suburbs and I hope they will have electricity the soonest.

Before typhoon Glenda hit the country, I thought I was prepared enough. I hoarded a lot of canned goods enough to survive the week. But all my hopes were wrong since my forgetful mind forgot to stock up on gas! On the day of the typhoon where power went out, I couldn’t cook our meals anymore because I ran out of gas and we don’t have power! Pfft. Good thing we survived on our canned goods and an hour of power before it went out again just in time for me to cook rice. Yet again, another lesson learned.

While I wallow myself into frustration of our internet provider, which is another story, I was now able to bake a lot of goodies for the kids and tried out new dishes so my little boy turned picky eater will have more appetite. I am a bit frustrated on his appetite because when he was a baby he would eat everything and love to try out everything on the table. Now, he just wants bread, bread, and bread.

In the coming months to come I will share with you tried and tested recipes that might help you with your picky eater kids and to satisfy the hungry tummies of your eldest kid as well (you know who I am pertaining to right (?).

For now, let me catch up where I have left of so I will be able to clear the mess on my pending posts. Before I bombard you with backlogs, let me share with you what UP grounds looks like when we went there 4 days after the typhoon.

I just felt sad that the view from our usual dining area on a Sunday has lots of uprooted trees and was a total disaster.

How are you so far? Hope everyone is well.
