This is a long and overdue post. Due to the endless domestic duties I couldn't find a time to lay my hands on the keys and make a blogpost on this.
This was an extension of the mother's day celebration last month, an event for all the members of the family. I was bugging J to free his schedule on a weekend because I wanted to attend the event. I joined giveaways for a free ticket on their facebook page. And guess what? I was one lucky mom to win their ticket giveaway. Read it here.
It was a two-day event. The first day falls on a Saturday but since J was free on a Sunday, we chose to attend the Sunday schedule. We arrived at the tent few minutes before lunchtime and some activities have already started. J is not a fan of attending female events like this but the counsel needs to be with his family.
We went inside the tent and the place was full of concessionaires. The activity area was at the far end corner of the tent. The place was packed with kids and parents of all sorts. Since I promised my kids with play gym it was our first pit stop. The little boy immediately jumped at the Gymboree area. My little girl on the other hand tried to play with the other kids also. Few minutes later after the fashion show, it was Gymboree’s time for their activity at the activity area. Good thing I was able to persuade my little boy to go to the activity area.
He loved the big parachute and I was surprised that he participated in the activity. The fun part of it was when the kids were asked to pop the bubbles. He had so much fun trying to pop the smallest bubble he was able to find even if it means he was going to rumble with the other kids. He was even pleading from the teachers to blow more bubbles because he still wanted more!
The kids had body glitter paint too. I made the little boy choose what to put on his arm and he said, “icky frog mama”. He also chooses the color, which is green. The little girl was in deep sleep so I had her painted with stars on the leg.
The next activity was the Taekwando, which was supposed to be participated by kids aged 4 years old and up, but it seemed that my two yea old was in the mood for another activity so he went and stayed at the back. He was trying to follow instructions despite the number of kids in front of him. Does this mean he is now ready for school? We’ll see.
Next were story telling and the talk on health of the family but I wasn’t able to pay attention because my little boy was having tantrums again. He still wants more physical activity. I had to distract him until the talk was finished.
We were having snacks already and was prepared to go as the little girl was already sleepy and cranky also but when the little boy heard the music and everybody else was dancing, he went on the activity area again and participated in the Zumba dance. He enjoyed it as much as he enjoyed the Taekwando.
I look forward to more events like this. My little boy had so much fun and I am sure my little girl will enjoy it also. Congratulations to the organizers of the Mom and me for the successful event. Thank you so much for the free ticket and the freebies. Looking forward for the next event!
Yet another memories we have shared, thanks so much Mom and Me!
Children's learning is not only contained to what is gained in the four corners of the classroom or house but it can be from anywhere they can have fun.
